Although Friday the 13th is not generally an auspicious time for an inauguration, the event went exceptionally well. The Art Studio was blessed by the new parish priest of Miagao Church, Father John Ticlain. This was followed by a well-attended cocktail party and exhibition of oil paintings from classical to modern, plus a photograph of Miag-ao Church taken by Norman Posecion during Holy week 2013. Father John was the first to appreciate the unique feature of the Church at 3 AM, with the light from the inside coming out of the open door of the church against the backdrop off the Milky Way above.
The most celebrated artist of the evening was Ajin Moragas, age 13, from Barangay Caitib of Miag-ao, whose oil paintings show the progression of artistic talent from the first paintings at age 10 to present day. Timo Roter (Hamburg, Germany) has been visiting Miag-ao every year since 1999 where he continues his painting. His abstract paintings exhibited during this inauguration have also been part of other exhibitions in Germany and Manila. Our Guest Artists for this event is Cristina Escario.
