Sulu Garden Foundation is now officially recognized as a DOST‑certified science foundation — the first in Panay Island and the only certified foundation in Region VI since the re‑establishment of the Negros Island Region.
What this certification means
The DOST certification unlocks access to competitive DOST Grants‑in‑Aid, technical assistance from DOST scientists, and potential use of specialized research facilities. It creates formal pathways for research collaboration, technology transfer, capacity building, and increased visibility for our programs and achievements.
Why this matters
This milestone strengthens our scientific credibility, expands the resources and partnerships we can mobilize, and accelerates our ability to deliver community‑led restoration and conservation at landscape scale. It positions Sulu Garden Foundation to better support local communities, scale evidence‑based interventions, and contribute to regional and national S&T priorities.
Our commitment
Throughout the years the foundation has various programs and activities focused on history and heritage, the arts, livelihood and community action, medical missions, nature conservation, research and development, and re-greening projects, all aimed at empowering communities and stewarding nature.
We will use this certification to deepen collaborations with government, academe, and private partners, strengthen our research and monitoring, and scale resilient, community‑driven restoration and innovation across Panay and beyond.
